Celebration of Hospice

Adorers of the Blood of Christ

by Sr. Ann Fearday, ASC

On April 12, 50 volunteers and staff celebrated the 45th anniversary of Hospice of Southern Illinois. Sister Leona Luechtefeld received a special well-deserved award since she and Sr. Mary Simpson were the pioneers of this ministry. Sisters Elizabeth Ann Weiler and Ann Fearday, who are members of Hospice, accompanied her in this lovely celebration. Hospice of Southern Illinois serves the 26 counties of Southern Illinois and helps families cope with what people fear most about dying: being in pain, being alone, losing control, and being a burden to others.
