Sister Diana Rawlings, ASC, celebrated 50 years as a vowed member of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ at Benedictine Living Community in Belleville, IL on July 1, 2024, and at the Wichita Center in Wichita, KS on July 14, 2024. She made her first profession on January 26, 1974, and her final vows on April 20, 1981. She marked her anniversary with a Eucharistic celebration, followed by a reception at the Centers.
Sister Diana was born in Nebraska City, NE, to Robert Dean and Katherine (Witte) Rawlings. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English in 1976 from Newman University, formerly Sacred Heart College, in Wichita, KS. She received her master’s in Telecommunications from Barry University in Miami, FL in 1986. In addition, she is a Certified Retirement Planning Specialist for Religious.
Sister Diana’s skills in the field of communications were evident in her teaching of English and Journalism on the high school level at McGuiness in Oklahoma City, OK, and Bishop Carrol in Wichita. In the archdiocese of Omaha, NE, she served as Producer of Programming, and Catholic Telecommunication Network of America Utilization, as well as Diocesan Assistant Communications Director. For eight years Sister Diana was the Development Director for WIN, the Women’s Initiative Network, in Wichita.
She became the Assistant Director of Communications for the Wichita Center before serving a term on the Provincial Team for the former Wichita Province. She then took the position of ASC Vocation Director for 10 years. More recently she served as Co-Director of Community Life and Mission for the sisters at the Wichita Center. She currently resides at the Center where she is an ASC community volunteer.
