Sister Anne Marie Meadowcroft, ASC, celebrated 70 years as a vowed member of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ (ASC) on Saturday July 18, 2026, at St. Anne’s Retirement Community in Columbia, Pennsylvania. Sister Anne Marie made her first profession on Aug. 15, 1956, and her final vows on Aug. 15, 1961. She marked her anniversary with a Mass at St. Anne’s followed by a festive luncheon with her family, Associates, and ASC sisters.
Sister Anne Marie was born in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, to William and Edith Meadowcroft. She received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Carlow College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1972 and her master’s in Elementary Education/Reading from Millersville University, Millersville, Pennsylvania in 1977.
Sister Anne Marie was a teacher for more than 30 years. Although her focus was on primary grades, she also taught at St. Joseph Academy in Columbia, Pennsylvania for several years. The major portion of her teaching ministry was spent in Pennsylvania in the towns of McKeesport, Johnstown, Steelton, Middletown, and Lewistown; and in the Chicago, Illinois parishes of St. Jerome and Assumption.
In addition to teaching, Sr. Anne Marie also served as dorm moderator at St. Joseph Academy in Columbia, Pennsylvania for several years. She was a Home Caregiver for six years in New Oxford, Pennsylvania. Her community service included being the Local Coordinator for the sisters of St. Jerome convent in Chicago, and later the Director of Development of the former Columbia Province.
Following her retirement from teaching, Sr. Anne Marie volunteered at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania and later served as a Parish Minister at St. Margaret Mary in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
Sister Anne Marie currently resides at St. Anne’s Retirement Community.
