Journey from Vallecorsa to Acuto

 Sister Angela Laquet, ASC

by Sr. Angela Laquet, ASC

The ASC local community at Benedictine Living Community at the Shrine (BLCS) and local sisters from the area gathered for a celebration on March 1 in honor of Foundation Day, March 4.  March 1 commemorates the anniversary of St. Maria de Mattias’ journey to Acuto, as she left her family home on that date in 1834. Geri Furmanek, our event planner at BLCS, led us through a reflection about when each of us began our journey to enter the Adorers. She invited us to share with one another about the day we entered and to gather fragments of our wisdom gained as ASCs.

We followed this with a festive meal and socializing. As you can see from the smiles in the pictures, we Adorers know how to celebrate!
