Sister Rosina Mies, ASC, celebrated 75 years as a vowed member of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ at the Wichita Center on Sunday, May 21, 2023. She made her first profession on July 1, 1948 and her final vows on July 1, 1953. She marked her anniversary with a meal with the ASC community and a Eucharistic celebration at the Wichita Center.
Sister Rosina was born in Mt. Hope, KS to Mathias and Rosa Helen (Bergkamp) Mies. She received her RN (Registered Nurse) from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Wichita, KS in 1958.
Sister Rosina spent 50 years in the healthcare ministry. She began in the position of Nurse Supervisor at St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid, OK. Following a brief time as Staff Nurse in St. Francis Hospital in Washington, MO, and several years as Surgery Supervisor at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK, she returned to St. Mary’s in Enid, where she ministered for 45 years. She served in a variety of administrative positions, including Nurse Supervisor, Nursing Manager and Medical/Surgical Manager.
Sister Rosina moved to the Wichita Center in 2009 where she was Assistant to the Director of Community Life and Mission. She continues to reside at the Center.
