Family Takes Many Forms

 Lori Benge, Vocations Director

As we prepare for Holy Week, we see Jesus surrounded by family.

There is his friend Lazarus and his sisters Mary and Martha. His apostles will join Him for the Last Supper. His mother will walk with Him through his journey and ultimately stand at the foot of the cross. There are others deeply connected to Him: Mary Magdalene, Mary the wife of Clopas, and His beloved friend and apostle, John. The people closest to Jesus were not only His biological relatives, but also His chosen family, those who walked with Him in love, faith, and purpose.

Many of us have friends who become our chosen family as well. These are the people who uplift us, support us, and encourage us to deepen our relationship with God. You might even call them our spiritual family.

The ASC Family invites you to explore this kind of spiritual connection more deeply. Whether as an Associate, a Sojourner, or a vowed religious Sister with the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, each path offers a meaningful way to live out faith, service, and community, within a spiritual family rooted in compassion, love and mission.
Family takes many forms. This Holy Week take time to reflect on your own family, both given and chosen and how they help guide you on your spiritual journey.

Who have you surrounded yourself with deepen your relationship with God?
