Summer 2026
This summer, excitement is building as the world turns its attention to international soccer. Cities are preparing, teams are training, and fans are making plans long before the first whistle blows. Even if you’re not a soccer fan, there’s something inspiring about the anticipation and preparation.
Discernment often works the same way.
Many of us think we need to have everything figured out before we can respond to God’s call. Yet athletes don’t wait until game day to prepare. They train, practice, and trust the process long before they know the outcome.
The same is true in our spiritual lives. Discernment is not simply about finding an answer. It is about becoming ready to recognize and respond to God’s invitation. Prayer, reflection, conversations with trusted companions, and participation in community help prepare our hearts for whatever God may reveal.
Sometimes we want certainty before taking the next step. Yet faith invites us to trust that God is already at work, even when the full picture is not yet clear.
As summer unfolds, consider how you are preparing for what God may be inviting you toward. The call may not be fully clear today, but your willingness to listen, trust, and remain open is already part of the journey.
