November is a time of remembering and giving thanks.

The All Saints and All Souls days we celebrate on Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 call us to remember the saints who have gone before us and give us example of how God can work in our lives if we are open to God’s Spirit.

These feast days call us to remember all who have gone before us and on whose shoulders we stand.

All of us are evolving. We are in a type of relay of life, passing off our time here to the next generations much like relay racers who pass the baton to the next player on the team.

Our minuscule perspective on life does not allow us to see all the aspects of this death and resurrection mystery that we live.

But we are able to give thanks to God

  • for the beauty we see in our lives each day
  • for the calls we have received and the responses we have given
  • for the people who have moved in and out of our lives and with whom we continue to live at this time.

We are so blessed to be a part of creation and this incredible universe in which we live.

We thank God for all our blessings and pray that we might share our gifts with this wounded world.
