Prayer Vigil for Immigrants
An immigration prayer vigil was held at the beginning of May in Wichita, Kansas. Five ASCs – Sisters Becky Balthazor, Vicki Bergkamp, Julianna Kim, JoAnn Mark and Tarcisia Roths (lower left) – were among the estimated 150 people participating. The vigil was held on the plaza of the Wichita City Building, followed by a march through downtown. The vigil was sponsored by Sunflower Community Action, a grassroots community organization in Wichita with a strong focus on problems faced by undocumented immigrants, assisting them and advocating for reform in immigration law. S. Tarcisia is a member of the Sunflower board.
